This was the first North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic. I motorcycled down to MS. $15 ticket. $5 for a cooler. I tried to pay the guy for my cooler (it held a six pack), he laughed at me and said the charge is for huge coolers that held several cases.
I shot a little video, but got most everything on audio recordings.
I had motorcycled down to MS to go to the first North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic in Potts Camp.
I went to Clarksdale the night before and stayed at the Riverside Hotel and went to Red's that night to see Big Jack Johnson. I had approached Big Jack before the show and asked about recording video and he said I had to talk to T (Terry Big T Williams). I found Terry outside and asked, but he was not interested. I shot a minute of the show anyway.

The line for the show stretched out over a block. As I stood waiting to get into the show, Dan comes out of the theater and walks my way. No one recognizes him. He's got a hoodie up over his head. I say "hey, Dan" as he passes. He looked up and smiled. The other people in line around me didn't figure it out until he was well past us.

I parked on the street by my bed and breakfast and had a ticket on my windshield in the morning. I had no idea what for. The ticket and all the signs were in French. Never paid the ticket. I don't ever plan to drive there again.

Continuing on this Black Keys fall tour into Canada. Just a little delay at the border. I had to explain what I was doing and show the police my show tickets. It took about an hour for them to decide to let me into Canada.
Montreal was great. I stayed in a bed and breakfast near the club. I had a very nice French dinner before the show.
Dan was having a bourbon at the bar when I came into the club. When I told him about eating French before the show, he said all the restaurants here are French.
